HOW TO ENERGIZE EMPLOYEES AND BOOST YOUR BUSINESS
APPLYING THE 4C’S OF MINDFULNESS IN THE WORKPLACE TO ENERGIZE EMPLOYEES AND BOOST YOUR BUSINESS
What Is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the act of bringing all your attention to the present and accepting the very moment that it is. It is less about focusing on work and more about embracing personal power and becoming more conscious of the decisions that could affect the environment around you.
Even though it’s an ancient practice, applying it to modern work could lead you to freedom and equanimity.
Mindfulness at Work
Applying 4c’s of mindfulness could not only improve the employees’ efficacy but boost your business growth as well. There are countless benefits of implying 4C’s, some of them being: increased stress and anxiety resilience, reduced work pressure and etc.
To apply the 4C’s of mindfulness, you need to know about them first. So, let’s start with the basics of 4C’s.
Calm is the leading C in the 4C’s because the other 3 C’s are based on calmness. Gaining control over your life is simple if you are calm at work, it’s overlooked. At work, many employees get stressed about deadlines, projects, politics and etc. however, breathing calmly could create a stress response.
Guide your employees to slow down when stressed and to create a schedule and sacred pauses throughout the working hours for more efficiency and productivity.
Compassion, the heart of 4c’s is important for your employees’ self-care and confidence. In mindfulness, it is simply known as the ability to bear all the suffering without or with distractions. It simply means to love yourself and then pass the love to others.
In a work environment, you can apply compassion by encouraging the employees to do their work first and then show compassion to their co-workers by helping them out whenever needed. Allow them to make simple gestures that go a long way and might strengthen the employees’ relationship.
Your employees might not be able to have access to clarity If they are overstimulated or overextended. You must apply this C by guiding the employees to trust their gut. To make wise decisions in the workplace, the employees must deeply listen to themselves.
Choice is a hopeful C that reminds us that every day is a new chapter of life and we can always begin from the next day. According to the message of mindfulness, we are born every morning so that we can make choices.
With the context of the work environment, we wake up every day and choose how we dress, how we want to reach to the office, how we want to communicate, what thoughts we would indulge, what attitude we would adopt with our colleagues and with that behavior we would engage with our colleagues.
As an employee, you can teach your employees how they can set their intentions consciously and make the right choice if they are off track. Encourage your employees that it’s never too late and they can begin from the next day, from scratch or from where they left.
